Weekly Highlights
Highlight from this weeks articles, conversation and creative inspirations from Rosie Lee and our community. Opening the lid on topics, news and inspirations that affect our thinking and our work.
What a week! We’ve been busy as usual recording and editing conversations, writing articles, finding inspirations and checking in with friends. Two weeks ago we met Louie and asked him on the spot to join us as our guest on the next recording. He said yes and here we are. We’ve also recorded Linda Byrne ready for the next one. Take a look below for all of our latest news and musings and we’ll check in again next week. Enjoy!
Unorthodox Blend
Conversation: UBC022 - Louie Syred
We recently met Louie Syred or a chat about his brand Peak Moods and hit it off brilliantly, so we invited him for an Unorthodox Blend Conversation.
You can expect lots of chat about nootropics (Russell Clayton is already a longtime fan of these), how they help us function well and what impact that can have in our lives.
Article: UBA069 - One mind, any weapon
This week’s article, written by Mark, entitled “One Mind, Any Weapon” is inspired by this phrase, used in the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program.
Our group have worked across many different creative disciplines, and incorporate AI into our design work now via againstti.me but ultimately it’s about how you use and master those tools, and that will always come back to the individual in creative control.

Magazine Design: The Online Gallery 12
Rosie Lee Creative
Edition 12 of The OG launched last month, at the inaugural Atlanta Art Fair. Atlanta is becoming one of the fastest growing art hubs, and the team at The OG have raised the bar, once again, with the wealth of talent involved in this Edition.
The RL team create visually arresting spreads to showcase the editorial content. If you haven’t checked out The Online Gallery, this is a brilliant Edition.
For this release there are 3 different covers to collect. Radcliffe Bailey Jr is the cover artist for this edition, honouring his legacy and the continued inspiration his art offers. Derrick Adams also created two alternative covers - featuring Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys. Adams’ work is part of The Dean Collective, which is owned by Beatz and Keys, and is currently on show at The High Museum in Atlanta.
Purpose Workshop: Hoare Associates.
Against Time
We recently were asked to work with music law firm Hoare Associates Limited, to help them with their Purpose by hosting a workshop as part of a staff engagement event.
The workshop was a combination of education, engagement with staff and progressing the thinking around Brand Strategy. A consultation followed, with owner Richard Hoare to lock in key decisions around Purpose, Mission and Brand Position and to finalise the company’s Archetypes.
As always, we utilised AI here to fast track some of the immersion work around marketplace analysis, and to create workshop structure based on our existing Frameworks.
Methane Biochemistry. Life Beyond Earth.
Against Time
This series envisions life forms based on methane-based biochemistry, thriving in extreme environments like Titan’s methane lakes. These organisms are adapted to use methane as their primary energy source, offering a glimpse into what alien life might look like. The visuals highlight unique cellular structures and adaptations, reshaping our understanding of life beyond Earth.
Inspirations
Unlearning Ai
Unlearning AI offers a refreshing analogue approach to artificial intelligence, one that intentionally exposes flaws rather than perfecting them. In a time when AI-generated images are becoming “cleaner” and more “perfect,” this project challenges our perception of reality, showing us what’s lost when technology erases imperfection. Using reconstructed 2000-piece puzzles, Unlearning AI presents portraits with visible seams, distorting identities to reveal the “imposter” beneath
Sound Waves in Sand
Bottega Veneta's 'Waves' installation in Dubai features sand-colored seats sculpted into patterns reminiscent of sound waves.
Skate Break
Swatch’s Skate Break collaboration with pro skateboarder Andy Anderson is a fun fusion of sport and objects that have other purposes. For Skate Break, nothing is safe - office desks, tables, lamps, campervans - all re converted into skateable furniture for when you need a break from everyday tasks.
If you have any inspirations that you’d like featured on UB, then please share them with us.
News from our friends
The Jae Tips x Saucony Matrix Pack
A nice collaboration from our friends at Saucony with Jae Tips returning for another bold design, this time with a fresh take on the Matrix. Teased at Paris Fashion Week, the latest drop showcases a textured suede and mesh upper, a rich burgundy base, and soft tannish-pink accents across the toecap, laces, and heel.
The Jae Tips x Saucony Matrix Pack will get an early drop at ComplexCon this weekend, with a wider release soon after on Jae Tips’ site and Saucony.
