The original test subject for Unorthodox Blend Conversations.
Tom is our Operations Director at Rosie Lee, and despite the difficult situations Mark and I always seem to put him in, he is always supportive of our experimental attitude to business. Tom is most excited when talking about humans at work, and how organisations can interact with people compassionately for genuine mutual benefit.
Tom was deliberately our last conversationalist at UB Live 2024, so that we could reflect together, discuss our highlights and share what we learned over the 3 days.

We discuss the concept of fit in hiring and the role of resilience and drive in their company. We covered various topics and themes, including the importance of balancing work and personal interests, the value of deep conversations, the significance of mental health in leadership roles, the power of transparency and authenticity, and the impact of personal differences on relationships and communication.
We share our experiences and insights, highlighting the importance of self-reflection, empathy and open communication.

This recording was a part of UB Live 2024, a series of live-streamed conversations and IRL panel discussions to celebrate Rosie Lee’s 24th birthday.
As our first foray into live streaming, we’ve had an amazing time and have learned a lot. But most of all we are so very grateful for our friends who joined us for conversations, we couldn’t have hoped for a better bunch of people. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the talks and once we get a chance to regroup we’ll already be thinking about next year’s Unorthodox Blend Live as Rosie Lee turns 25.
Thank you to everyone who tuned in and if you missed any of the conversations from this year’s event you can check them out here.
