This Week's Highlights
Creative inspirations from Rosie Lee and our community. Opening the lid on news and inspirations that affect our thinking and our work.
Meta Orion
Announced at Meta Connect 2024.
AR glasses seem to have been a struggle for many brands out there but Meta are going for it this time. The jump off point here is naturally the AI integration but the promise is so much bigger, including a wristband that allows a level of control.
The ‘post-phone’ technology evolution seems to be getting closer.

Tim Burton Exhibition
Major exhibition exploring his creepy creations and key collaborations with designers.
Looking forward to visiting and immersing myself in the offbeat, whimsical world of Tim Burton and very much enjoy these immersive exhibitions.
The Design Museum is about to open its doors to The World of Tim Burton, an exhibition that’s set to be as quirky and captivating as the man behind it. From October 25, 2024, to April 21, 2025, visitors will dive deeply into Burton’s wild imagination, with over 600 pieces from his archive.
Known for blending whimsy with a touch of eerie, Burton has left an unforgettable mark on both cinema and art. The exhibition will cover his expansive career, showcasing his talents not only as a cult filmmaker but also as an illustrator, painter, photographer, and author.
Expect to see everything from sketches and paintings to photography and sculptural works, along with costume and set designs that brought his iconic films to life.
After a global tour with stops in Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Prague, The World of Tim Burton finally lands in London, its final destination. This is a rare chance to see the full spectrum of Burton’s creativity, from his early work to his latest projects—definitely a must-see for any fan of his off-kilter brilliance.

LoveFrom, MONCLER collection
In a sleek collaboration with Italian luxury fashion brand Moncler, LoveFrom, the cross-disciplinary creative firm founded by Jony Ive, has introduced the ‘Duo Button’—a magnetic clasp that headlines Moncler’s latest modular outerwear collection. This project, four years in the making, includes a parka, field jacket, down vest, and hooded poncho, all unified by the Duo Button’s innovative design.
The Duo Button offers a simple yet ingenious solution, allowing wearers to easily attach or detach layers of the jacket with a satisfying magnetic click. Say goodbye to zippers and complicated fasteners—this system makes layering seamless and effortless, perfect for navigating unpredictable weather.

AOPP x André Saraiva
Every synthetic garment ever made still exists in some form.
Legendary street artist André Saraiva (Mr A) joins forces with legendary friend and collaborators at AOPP (Art of Ping Pong) for a limited edition run of 25 ArtTables.
These tables and paddles will be an awesome edition to a living space and I expect they’ll all be sold before you can say “ping”.
Register your interest over on the AOPP website.

Woolmark’s Synthetic Apocalypse
Every synthetic garment ever made still exists in some form.
Following on from Woolmark’s Wear Wool, Not Fossil Fuel 2023 video, their latest campaign has just launched.
With high production values and a strong narrative, Woolmark successfully add swathes of drama to their messaging and avoid the usual ‘sustainability tropes’ that a lot of brands end up lazily using.
A refreshing take on sustainability messaging.

Cj Hendry's Flower Market
One of my favourite artists, Cj Hendry, is as much known for her fun, innovative exhibition setups as her insanely hyperrealistic drawings. She’s staged shows in giant soft-play castles with ball pits and even inflatable swimming pools in the desert. For her latest collection, she’s launched a flower market on Roosevelt Island in New York.
Partnering with beauty brand Clé de Peau Beauté and the Four Freedoms Park Conservancy, Flower Market is set in a 120-foot-long greenhouse on the lawn of the FDR Four Freedoms State Park.
Unfortunately, after just one day, the massive floral installation was shut down due to overcrowding, and it had to be moved to an Industry City warehouse for its final day.
Classic Cj—always pushing boundaries and drawing crowds wherever she goes.
