Weekly Highlights
Highlight from this weeks articles, conversations and creative inspirations from Rosie Lee and our community. Opening the lid on topics, news and inspirations that affect our thinking and our work.
And so the end of the year begins…we’re pushing hard to close off the projects we’re working on for this year and having lots of chats with people about what 2025 looks like. If you’re in the creative industry then maybe, like us, you’re hoping for a smoother ride in 2025.
This week we’ve released our latest Friends Q&A with Jack Gold, one of the first people to every trust Rosie Lee with a project during his time at Nike. Peigh Asante has been on calls with us discussing our next Conversation, and we have been included in Issue 13 of The OG Magazine, a magazine we’ve been designing since its inception during the pandemic.
Check out our other happenings this week below.
Unorthodox Blend
Article: UBA072 - My personal paradox
This week’s article comes from Russell and is all about the fine balance between Order and Chaos. In Rosie Lee’s history we have often used this to describe the relationship between Mark and Russell’s leadership and working styles, even producing talks about it.
But Russell’s reflection is that in reality, even though often seen as someone bringing order and structure to a situation, he has a strong leaning towards impulsivity and unpredictability too. In truth the balance between both Order and Chaos is the sweet spot.

It might sound like an exaggeration, but without that initial call from Kemi and Jack, there probably wouldn’t be a Rosie Lee x Nike relationship, or even Rosie Lee as we know it today.
Those formative years where we honed our narrative concepts with Jack’s and the team's guidance. We were lucky in a way, back in 2000 Nike didn’t have a football history to reference, so we could only look forward. Unlike the nostalgic themes other brands were chasing, everything we created was driven by the Nike teams, the athletes and the product innovation.
The rest, as they say, is history…

Sea of Trash. Plastic Sculptures.
Against Time
There is too much plastic floating in our oceans. We know this yet we fail to do enough as a society.
We wanted to delve into this critical issue of ocean pollution, transforming ocean waste into series of evocative sculptures, seeking to result in more positive action.

This year we did a talk with AP Hogeschool, to share our creative philosophy and our take on the current state of the industry. We’re also planning a few of these types of presentations to brands at the moment.
