NASA released a photo of the Amazon River taken from the International Space Station, showing the river illuminated during either sunrise or sunset. The image captures the Amazon as a thin golden line running through dense rainforest, spanning Peru, Colombia, and Brazil.

From space, the forest appears as a vast green surface, with cloud layers resembling soft ridges above the landscape.

Beyond being visually striking, this image also has scientific value. Researchers use it to monitor atmospheric particles, study local weather systems, and better understand how solar radiation interacts with the lower atmosphere over the Amazon region.
