MSCHF x AMG Car Furniture Collection
MSCHF opens studio doors for first time during NYCxDesign Week
MSCHF are back, and we feature them a lot as we find their projects to be fun, unexpected and disruptive in the brand universe.
The Brooklyn art collective has partnered with Mercedes-AMG for NYCxDesign Week 2025, transforming genuine performance car components into an irreverent furniture collection titled "Not for Automotive Use." Think ergonomic chairs, standing lamps and even bin bins constructed from engine parts and vehicle components.
Drawing inspiration from 1960s Italian Radical Design, particularly Achille Castiglioni's work, the collection maintains MSCHF's signature approach of remixing familiar objects into conceptual provocations. There's also apparel featuring engine component scans and a custom fragrance tree shaped like an apple – cleverly nodding to AMG's German hometown of Affalterbach.
What makes this particularly special is the opportunity to peek behind the curtain at MSCHF's typically closed-off Brooklyn studio. They're opening their doors to the public (15-17 May, 12-5pm) for the first time, with an opening party on 14 May (7-11pm).
As with all MSCHF drops, limited-edition items will be available for a brief window only, continuing their strategy of creating cultural moments that vanish almost as quickly as they appear.
