Melrose goes bananas for Jacquemus
West Hollywood store opening offers boots, bananas and bouquets
There's no stopping Jacquemus. The French label has opened its fifth global boutique in West Hollywood's Design District, drawing impressive crowds to its four-day "Jacquemus Market" launch event.
Founder Simon Porte Jacquemus attended Thursday's ribbon-cutting ceremony, posing against a surrealist backdrop that embodied the brand's playful aesthetic.
Visitors queued for blocks to participate in a whimsical ticket giveaway offering yellow flower bouquets, banana ice cream, or rides on a banana-themed mobile. Lucky winners received either the Rond Carré clutch or boots from the new Timberland "La Bateau" collaboration.
The boutique's interior features the sleek architecture and sunny motifs characteristic of the brand, while outside, market displays of bananas, flowers and champagne created the perfect backdrop for Los Angeles fashion insiders and influencers.
